May 24, 1973 - New Building Dedication Brochure

Introduction

In May 1935, the Ohio General Assembly authorized the change of the name of the institution from Kent State College to Kent State University. At the same time the Assembly approved the creation of a Graduate School and a College of Business Administration. The College of Business Administration opened in September 1936.

In Fall 1956, the college moved from Merrill Hall into a remodeled Franklin Hall (previously known as the Lincoln Street Building). As the college's student enrollments, faculty, and staff grew, the need for a new facility increased.

In 1973 the College of Business Administration moved into its new headquarters, a five-story structure planned and designed specifically to meet the program needs and responsibilities of the College. The formal dedication of the building was on May 24, 1973. A program booklet was designed to commemorate the dedication. The following pages bring this booklet to the web.
