Department of Accounting Mission Statement
1. To provide quality education preparing students for professional accounting careers through an undergraduate program focusing on accountants to be employed in business enterprises, governmental units, and not-for-profit organizations and a five-year program leading to an advanced degree focusing on accountants to be employed in public accounting.
2. To provide quality education to prepare academic accountants consistent with a doctoral program producing scholars and teachers.
3. To provide quality education through service courses and an accounting minor to undergraduate and graduate students who will use accounting information in practicing in their chosen field.
4. To serve the professional accounting community.
5. To improve accounting thought consistent with being part of a comprehensive, research university.
