Freshmen Scholarship Oppurtunities
In addition to the Freshmen Scholarships listed below, the College of Business Administration offers scholarships to help our students fund their education. There are scholarships available specifically for junior and senior level students. Generally, to be considered for these scholarships, students need to apply the semester prior to either their junior or senior year. See Honors, Awards, and Scholarships for Juniors and Seniors.
The freshmen scholarships offered by the College of Business Administration are as follows:
- James and Nancy Arthur Scholarship - Preference is given (but is not limited to) Kent Roosevelt High School graduates who enroll in the College of Business Administration and have at least a 2.50 high school GPA.
- Rubber Scholarship - Student recipients must be accepted to and enrolled in the College of Business Administration.
- C. Weber Scholarship - Student recipient must be admitted to and enrolled in the College of Business Administration and have a minimum high school cum GPA of 2.75 or higher. Primary consideration is given (but not limited to) graduates of Lakewood High School, Lakewood, Ohio.
- College of Business Administration Honors College Scholarships (three possible scholarships) - Student recipients must be admitted to and enrolled in both the College of Business Administration and the Honors College.

Scholarships offered by Kent State University to freshmen are as follows:
- Elaine Schwebel Winick Scholarship - parent must be employed with Schwebel Baking Company and the student must have a good academic record.
- Founders Scholar Program - Incoming freshmen, at least a 3.25 high school GPA, invitation only, competitive exam in senior year.
- Mason Scholarship - Ohio resident preferred, Masonic affiliation not required, good academic record, financial need.
- Minority Incentive Scholarship - entering freshman, minimum 3.00 high school GPA or freshman transfer with minimum 2.75 college GPA for 12 or less transfer hours, and financial need.
- Oscar Ritchie Memorial Scholarship - entering minority freshman, minimum 3.25 high school GPA, competitive exam in junior year, recommendation from high school counselor and teachers.
- Paul E. Litchfield Scholarship - parent employed at least five years with Goodyear Tire & Rubber, good academic record, good national test scores, and financial need.
- President's Grant - Incoming freshmen children of Kent alumni and non-Ohio resident.
- President's Scholarship - incoming freshmen, good academic record, good national test scores, and non- Ohio residents.
- Scholarship for Excellence - incoming freshmen and valedictorian of an Ohio high school.
- University Academic Scholarship - minimum 3.00 high school GPA for incoming freshmen.
- University Scholarship - minimum 3.00 high school GPA, good national test scores, Ohio resident, and financial need.
